Knights Of The Abyss

Knights of the Abyss was formed in 2005 after drummer Andy Rysdam had left his former band Job for a Cowboy. They have recorded two full-length albums, which have been released by Siege of Amida Records and Ferret Records respectively. Early songs featured Phil Noriega and Mike Manheimer, but whilst recording their debut album, Juggernaut, current vocalist Manheimer injured his throat.[1] Dustin Hadlock, a friend of the band who had done guest vocals on some older tracks, stepped in to record the rest of the album and toured with the band throughout January 2008, until Manheimer returned to continue with the band.[1] A new song, titled "A New Darkened Faith" (from their new album Shades, due out in June 2008) was posted on the band's MySpace page in early April. All vocal duties on Shades were handled by Dustin Curtis of the band A Breath Before Surfacing from Tucson, Arizona. The band also announced their signing to Ferret Records[2], which will be releasing the new album. The band have toured the United States and the United Kingdom, playing alongside bands such as Elysia and Arsonists Get All the Girls. Elysia's vocalist, Zak Vargas, was featured on the song "Decaying Waste" off of the album Juggernaut. Nick Florence and Dustin Hadlock recently started another death metal band entitled Decessus. With the start of 2009 many of the original members of Knights of The Abyss had left. Dustin Hadlock stepped up to vocals again. A new drummer and guitarist were added as well.
